Brooke Hayes Fern

Executive Director, Operations

Brooke Fern brings more than 15 years of marketing and communications leadership, coupled with a strong customer focus, to her role as Executive Director, Operations.

Brooke is responsible for developing and executing Greenleaf’s global marketing and communications strategies, including client services, budget management, and Web site development and maintenance. She reports directly to Greenleaf’s Founder and CEO Patrick Ronan.

Before joining Greenleaf Health, Brooke served as Director of Marketing and Communications for the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM), a 400-member professional service organization dedicated to expanding the capacity and furthering the vision of children’s museums around the world.

Brooke developed, implemented, and managed the marketing and communications initiatives of this Washington, DC-based Association, negotiating new marketing opportunities, managing the organization’s brand audit process, and spearheading the development of ACM’s Web site. She also developed new, marketing-based earned income sources and handled grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and governmental agencies to support ACM’s annual conference, institutes, operations, and new initiatives. In addition, Brooke served as Acting Director of the Association, with responsibility for managing its finances and its staff.

Before her work at ACM, Brooke was the Senior Marketing Manager at the American Association of Museums (AAM), a 17,000 member association with the mission to enhance the ability of museums to serve the public interest. As the manager of overall marketing efforts, Brooke developed and implemented marketing plans that significantly increased AAM’s membership and annual conference attendance. Brooke also edited and produced several of the Association’s publications.

Earlier, Brooke served as Associate Director of Communications for GAMA International, where she managed online communications and public relations initiatives for this Washington, DC-based education and training association for financial planners.

She began her career at Martin & Glantz LLC, a political consulting firm that specializes in grassroots organizing and communications strategies to affect public policy.

Brooke is a graduate of Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, VA.
